Dr. Kelly Sonnenfeld, PhD

Licensed Psychologist (she/her)

Welcome! My practice is rooted in the belief that we are all doing our best in this life; at the same time, we have experiences wherein our best efforts to reduce pain and misery–or to live the life we want–simply do not work.  My approach to treating life’s most difficult problems involves balancing the strong desire for change, with the acceptance of this moment as it is and loving compassion for all you have experienced.  I provide services to meet you where you are, co-create space for healing, and journey with you toward your goals.

Clinical Care and Consultation Based In Compassion and Evidence-Based Practices

Individual Therapy, Parent Coaching, Online DBT Skills Group Therapy, Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), DBT Consultation and Training

I am proud to be working as one of the only fully-adherent outpatient Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) providers in Northern Colorado.  This means that I offer all four components of DBT treatment: individual therapy, DBT skills group, phone coaching, and DBT therapist consultation team.  My clients often experience intense emotions and sensitivity leading to ineffective ways of coping such as suicidality, self-harming behaviors, impulsivity, aggression, eating concerns, substance abuse, and avoidance.  The good news is that DBT is the gold standard treatment for many of these behaviors of emotion dysregulation and I invite you to dive in with me and discover a path to a more balanced, satisfying life.
